Introduction

It is possible to tell a lot about fashion by reading magazines. Magazines often have pictures of slim girls. There is a link between the techniques displayed and people’s health. And many people focus on such figures and their clothing. The report will try to explain how style affects health.

The link between fashion and health

To begin with, plenty of people, especially ladies, have to strictly care for their health to fit into the fashion world. Today, many people spend lots of their time in the gym doing fashion (Eldredge, Wilson, & Whaley, 1990). Mainly, people intend to conform to the styles of their choice; they adjust their health habits by changing eating trends, engaging themselves in exercise, and even taking pills.

Generally, different factors influence how one’s body image is perceived. Such factors include the mass media, peer groups, ethnic backgrounds, and family values, all of which are traceable to the fashion associated with these groups.

While there is nothing like an ideal or even a perfect body, humans strive to conform to standards of body health and to deem them aligned with their fashion preferences simultaneously. While different standards and norms are linked to various cultures, these are not particular cultures that influence health; instead, these are their designated fashions that constitute the health paths adopted by individuals. In the United States, for example, there has been a common belief that women should be thin.

This has been the pattern for a long time. In most cases, the average model should be about six feet tall and weigh 130 pounds (Rubenstein & Cabellero, 2000). Sadly, most women use this as a general indicator of body health. Compared to models, most women try to lose weight because they believe they are overweight. Sadly, this is not always the desirable health measure standard, and women find themselves leading unhealthy lives to fit this idealized meaning of health. Allerdings, it is not only the women whose health is affected by fashion.

How fashion affects people’s health?

Men also have fashions they idealize. More often than not, many men want to be shaped accordingly and fit into the clothing they see their stars wearing. Dissatisfaction with health and weight can result in self-esteem problems, particularly when people discover that they do not match an ideal body shape as well as shape. They take body enhancement pills, bury themselves in the gym, and change their eating habits.

All of these have an effect on the overall well-being of people. Which is what defines the connection between fashion and health. It can be denied that fashion is a vital component in determining how people treat their health. Society must ask whether it is justified to alter her health to conform to fashion ideals. This isn’t beneficial because people often resort to unhealthy ways of increasing or losing weight.

Possible Result

As much as it is possible to alter one’s weight and hence health to conform to fashion when this is done in an unhealthy manner, there is a likelihood of negative repercussions. It would prefer to be encouraged to follow healthy guidelines and make the clothing fit the individual’s physique.

Unhealthy methods of losing weight often result in side effects, which have long-term consequences that may not be pleasant and should be avoided (Rosen, Gross, & Vara, 1987). For instance, some women engage in unhealthy practices to lose weight and deny their body’s vital elements. The body could be exposed to severe health risks.

Conclusion

Lastly, it would be essential to emphasize that fashion is a part of society and that, as such, a person considering health-related issues should consider it. A community can’t live in a scenario where style is compatible with the health of individuals. People are changing their health to conform to society. Awareness must be implemented to explain the risks of using unhealthy means to fit specific idealized fashions.

Not everyone can fit a given fashion. However, the range of styles is extensive, and one cannot lack a fashion that conforms to their health standards. As much as manner affects health, experts in the area must advise clients on the health consequences of trying to do to specific fashion standards.
