Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Andy Peebles has died at the age of 76, with his colleagues paying tribute to the popular broadcaster. Peebles was best known for presenting on BBC Radio 1 from 1978 to 1992, but he also hosted episodes of iconic TV show Top of the Pops during that time and was also a cricket commentator. A baby who accidentally swallowed magnets from a toy almost died after having to have an operation to remove them from her body. One-year-old Araya Whateley, from Northamptonshire, had to have part of her bowel removed during a seven-hour emergency surgery and now has a stoma bag.
