Gary was a key player for Aston Villa’s 1981 League title and 1982 European Cup wins, recently had a fall near his Birmingham home. At 63, Shaw is remembered as one of Villa’s greatest strikers and one of the best finishers of his time.
As a lifelong Villa fan, he scored 18 goals to help the club win the Division One title for the first time in 71 years. After that, he was named PFA Young Player of the Year and European Young Footballer of the Year.
