After his Emmy nomination in July, Morris posted a video of 3-year-old Lily’s reaction. “Daddy, you’re crying again,” she said in the TikTok clip.
A teary-eyed Morris got the news of his nomination over the phone. He kissed his daughter on the head and said, “Yes, baby, daddy’s crying.”
In his acceptance speech, Morris shared that he’s a fan of fellow nominee Downey Jr., who was in the audience.
“I have a poster of you at my house, Robert Downey Jr.,” Morris said. “Can you sign it? I’m serious.”
Morris ended with a message to his loved ones, saying, “If you have my number, it means I love you.”
During its run, New Girl got five Emmy nominations but never won. Deschanel and Greenfield were nominated for acting in 2012.
