Model Iskra Lawrence has some exciting news—she’s going to be a mom again! She shared that she and her partner Philip Payne are expecting their second child together. I can’t really accept that I can at long last impart this enormous little news to all of you.
The couple’s pregnancy news comes precisely four years after they invited their most memorable youngster, a child named Alpha, in April 2020. “4 years later and we are finally going to be a family of 4,” the model wrote in the caption. As part of her announcement, Iskra teamed up with First Response to host a giveaway, “giving away all $20k to two of YOU to support you on your fertility journey.” She had done a similar giveaway during her first pregnancy and provided an update, saying, “4 years ago I gave away $10k each to Sara & Skye during my first pregnancy and it’s hard not to cry writing this but both now have their rainbow babies 🌈and it’s truly been my greatest honor being part of their journeys and I can’t wait to do this again.”
After their son Alpha was born in 2020, the couple talked about the scary moment when he “wasn’t breathing for two or three seconds.” Iskra recalled feeling terrified when she saw him lying there lifeless and blue. Fortunately, Alpha received oxygen and eventually cried, which relieved them both. Reflecting on the experience, Iskra said, “It all happened so quickly that it wasn’t as traumatic as you might expect. I couldn’t even process what was happening because the birth team handled it so confidently. They assured us, ‘We know what we’re doing, there’s nothing to worry about, we’ve got this.'”
Iskra and Philip, a music maker, initially met in January 2018 at a Grammy party. Philip remembers noticing Iskra before at social events or online, but this particular night stood out to him. He said, “I saw her and made an effort not to be so noticeable. She mentioned that she noticed me too, but I thought I was being pretty smooth. I approached her and the first thing I asked was, ‘Are you in a relationship?’ She replied, ‘It’s complicated,’ so I introduced myself and put my number in her phone. Then I just walked away, thinking I made an impression. She smiled, it was perfect.”
