Scottish comedian Janey Godley has canceled her autumn tour as she continues treatment for ovarian cancer.
At 63, the Glasgow native was set to kick off her “Why Is She Still Here?” tour, with shows planned in cities like London, Belfast, and Edinburgh. However, her doctors recommended that she take a break from work “for the foreseeable future.”
In a statement to the PA news agency, her team expressed, “It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of Janey Godley’s autumn 2024 tour.”
“Janey has been battling stage four ovarian cancer for the past few years, and the fantastic care from the Scottish NHS has kept it under control. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned recently, along with some complications.

In a video she shared on social media last year, Janey Godley explained that her scan results showed the treatment she was receiving was keeping her terminal ovarian cancer “under control.”
Earlier this year, Janey Godley toured the country with her “Not Dead Yet” shows, performing in places like Bristol, Epsom, Norwich, and Milton Keynes.
In 2023, she won the first-ever Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
However, she faced controversy in 2021 when the Scottish Government coronavirus ads she appeared in were withdrawn after offensive tweets of hers were uncovered during an investigation by the Daily Beast.
